Landmarks of the Faith Christian Tours

About Landmarks of the Faith - Christian Adventures in Living History
From the start, Landmarks of the Faith has been a different kind of travel company, designed to share the type of history that most tourists walk right by. We provide a top quality touring experience for the entire family.

Established in 2006 by well known historian and evangelist Richard “Little Bear” Wheeler, Landmarks of the Faith grew out of a thirty year ministry of speaking to audiences across forty-nine states and eleven countries about God’s providential hand in world events. This was combined with a desire to share these moving stories in locations where they actually occurred. We hope that you will join us on one of our adventures as we discover the landmarks of our faith.

  Richard "Little Bear" Wheeler

As president and founder of Mantle Ministries for over 30 years, Richard "Little Bear" Wheeler has had the unique privilege in ministry of communicating faith and family-building messages over a span of two generations of home-educated families throughout 49 of our 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, and most recently as guest speaker at an international church in faraway China.

"Little Bear" and wife, Marilyn, have been married for 38 years, and as veteran home school parents of 3 adult children, they are now enjoying the mantle of grand-parenthood. Also at the home front, "Little Bear" serves as co-pastor of Living Water Fellowship Church in Bulverde, Texas, as well as a Bible instructor at Living Water School of Ministry.

On the ministry field, through dramatic presentations and portrayals, "Little Bear" continues to equip, challenge, and inspire audiences of all ages with timely messages of biblical truth and character sketches involving the providence of God throughout history and the relevance of a growing faith in Christ Jesus today.   Eric Leach

Eric has been a world traveler and history enthusiast for as long as he can remember. As a professional pilot, aircraft broker, and seasoned globe-trotter, thus far Eric has visited sixteen countries on five continents. Eric also studies history extensively, maintaining a personal library of over four hundred books, mostly on historical subjects. Always striving to find ways to better understand his subject, Eric is currently training with the Highland Broadsword, and loves being able to visit the actual locations of historical events in order to better his knowledge. When Eric first met "Little Bear" in 1991, he was profoundly influenced by "Little Bear's" providential view that God works through circumstances to His glory, often using tiny factors to determine the outcome of major events. This has become a life theme for Eric in both his spiritual life, and in historical research. Along with his lovely wife, Amanda, Eric looks forward to the next travel adventure that God puts in his path as a means to advance his understanding of the past, while fixing his eyes on Jesus—the author and finisher of his faith.

Amanda Leach

The wife of Eric Leach, Amanda is an experienced trip coordinator, having organized trips on four continents. While working for the Institute of Basic Life Principles, she directed the Great Expeditions program, overseeing mission trips for groups of 50 or more students, as well as tours of the U.S. for visiting dignitaries. Since joining the Landmarks of the Faith staff, she has discovered an intense interest in history, particularly in the women behind the great men of history. As a homechool graduate, she also has plenty of experience in making learning fun, and has been instrumental in developing themed games and activities for the tours. Along with her husband, she looks forward to sharing what God has done both in history and in their own lives.

Jaron Pak

Jaron has been an avid student of history since he was a young boy. A homeschool graduate and holding a B.S.B.A. in Enterpreneurship, he currently works at his family's company, Home School in the Woods, researching and writing history curriculum that is used in homeschools as well as private and public schools. Along with his love for history, Jaron has been a long-time traveler, beginning his international adventures by celebrating his first birthday while living in England for a short time with his family. Since then, he has participated in missions trips to several countries in many different parts of the world across four continents, including spending six months at a discipleship training school in New Zealand and Fiji. He loves music, playing the piano, bass and acoustic guitars, and is currently adding the bagpipes to his musical arsenal.

From his youth, Jaron has known “Little Bear” Wheeler, whose influence has impacted him greatly—both spiritually and mentally—as he grew up. Jaron is a firm believer in learning from history, one of his favorite phrases being “Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it.” He loves the Lord, His Savior and Redeemer, and as His forgiven and adopted son and heir, is prepared to follow Him wherever He leads, whether it be his own hometown or to the ends of the earth.

With so many forgotten stories of God's providence woven throughout history, Jaron's desire and passion is to share with others these accounts of the past.
